Armada Winterguard clinches MWCGC Championship!
The 2008 Armada
Winterguard has taken the MidWest Colorguard Circuit by storm after a stellar first year and being bumped up, first to
Scholastic AA class, and then in 2008 to the Independent A class!
On Sunday, April 6th, 2008, Armada
became the first Independent A Class Winterguard Champion in Oregon history! This is an astonishing and well-deserved achievement
for the 23 members of our 2008 winterguard. Congratulations Brittney, Megan, Mimi, Kendall, Megan, Zach, Alex, Elle,
Milio, Breezy, RyeBread, Ms. Tway, Panda, Courtney, Kerry, ShaeButter, Emily, Kelsey, Erin, Emma, Shalom, Haley, and Feedz!!!
2009 is going to ROCK! Auditions are September 20th, 2008, from 12 Noon to 3PM at OHS. No matter what
your talent level, there is a spot in the Armada Winterguard for every person - all you need is interest and dedication!
More about the Winterguard Activity
Winterguard, known as “Sport of the Arts” combines modern dance, ballet, acrobatics,
tumbling, and equipment work to create a visual program set to prerecorded music. It’s kind of like poms,
dance class, modern dance, cheerleading, and colorguard all rolled into one! The activity
is gaining popularity all over the country because it’s fun and easy to learn!
Armada Winterguard is for all students currently in 7th through 12th grade. To
participate, you just need to come to Open Auditions. Our philosophy is one of inclusion, so we will take everyone that
auditions unless there are extenuating circumstances (like in case 100 people show up) in which case we'll enroll as many
as we can.
