Nick Lane
Executive Director & Program Coordinator
As Director of the program since 2003, Nick Lane has established himself and the Oregon band at the
forefront of the activitiy, going from last place to first in only three seasons. He is an accomplished visual designer
as well as music educator and serves as a Lead Designer with Plus One Drill Design and Consulting. As President of the
Mid-America Competing Band Directors Association, he has been charged with tour planning and management, program consulting,
and contest directing across the Midwest and Canada. In the fall, Nick is in demand as a marching band adjudicator,
particularly in Wisconsin, where he judges every weekend during the WSMA competition season.
Nick teaches
full time in Oregon, leading the 6th Grade concert bands, the 6th-8th grade Jazz Band, and several chamber ensembles at Rome
Corners Intermediate School. He serves as Director of the Shadow Armada (OHS summer marching band), Armada Winterguard,
and Armada Cadets Middle School Marching Band, and coordinates logistics for Shadow Indoor Percussion. He also designs
substantial portions of the drill, visual, and musical programs for all of these ensembles. Nick is the Executive
Director of the Oregon Marching and Athletic Arts Program and he lives with his wife, Megan, in Stoughton, Wisconsin.

Andy Brady
Drill Writer & Visual Coordinator
Assistant Director - Armada Winterguard
Andy
Brady has been involved with Oregon marching program since 2003 in the roles of clinician, designer, and visual coordinator.
He serves on the creative design teams for the summer marching band, the winterguard, and the percussion ensemble and is
also the Assistant Director of Armada Winterguard. His achievements in Oregon include leading the visual ensemble to
four consecutive High Visual GE titles in the MACBDA circuit, culminiating with the band's championship season in 2008.
Andy was elected to the Executive Board for the Mid America Competing Band Director's Association in 2005 and continues
to invest himself in the operations of this great educational circuit.
Along with having the pleasure of designing
and teaching with the great OMAAP staff, he spends his time judging, consulting, and running the operations
of plusonedrill.com with Nick Lane. Andy holds a degree in Visual Design - music & dance, with a brass & percussion
minor from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Becky Blom
Colorguard Coordinator
Artistic
Director - Armada Winterguard
Becky is in demand across the Midwest as a dancer, choreographer, dance teacher, and colorguard instructor.
She is currently the colorguard coordinator for OMAAP and has been with the band since 2004. In addition
to her committments at Oregon, Becky continues to be an active consultant and choreographer for several successful marching
bands, drum corps, and collegiate dance troupes.
As the founding Artistic Director of Oregon High School's
Armada Winterguard, in 2007 Becky led Armada to a stellar first season, including five first place titles in Regional
A Class, and an unprecidented first-year promotion to Scholastic AA Class. She and the guard followed that
success with a championship season, garnering first place in Independant A Class at the 2008 MWCGC Championships.
David Skogen
Battery Coordinator
Director
- Shadow Indoor Percussion
David Henzie-Skogen founded and is the primary writer/musical
director of the world-renowned YoungBlood Brass Band which - with its roots in the Oregon Marching Band - has now performed
to sold-out crowds and educated in over 20 countries. David also tours with the experimental rock ensemble Cougar, and is
the director of Layered Arts Collective, which houses a national record label, art studio, publishing house, and facilitates
free arts-based workshops for local youth. David has taught, composed, consulted and judged for Universities and High Schools
throughout the Midwest, and continues to be in demand as a battery percussion writer and consultant.
David boasts
a long history with the Oregon band dating back to 1993, including five years marching (1993-1997 under Steve Spiwak /
Mark Lindsay) and the remainder on teaching staff. He is currently the Battery Coordinator for the three-time defending
MACBDA Champion Oregon High School Drumline, and serves as Director for the winter drumline, Shadow Indoor Percussion.
Mike Thursby
Percussion Specialist
Mike Thursby is currently completing a master's degree
in Music Performance from the University of Northern Iowa. Mike has been a percussion instructor, arranger,
and clinician in the state Iowa primarily working with bands from Iowa City, Williamsburg, and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
He graduated with degrees in music performance and education from the University of Iowa, where he instructed and arranged
for the "Hawkeye Drumline" in the fall of 2007. While at Iowa he had the opportunity to study
with Dr. Dan Moore, Michael Spiro, Jim Drier, and several other notable percussionists. His experience
also includes marching with the Emerald Knights Drum and Bugle corps, and the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps from 2002-2006,
where he studied marching percussion under such instructors as Brent Montgomery and Colin McNutt.
This year, Mike returns to OMAAP as a technician with the summer battery as well as front line coordinator for Shadow Indoor
Percussion.
Paul Miller
Arranger & Music Coordinator
Paul Miller is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin
Platteville, where he studied under Dr. Michael Lewis. He is currently attending graduate school at the University of Iowa
where he is working towards his masters degree in Euphonium performance, under the direction of Professor John Manning.
Paul is a freelance musician in the tri-state area on both trombone and euphonium, and plays any chance he can. Over the years
he has been involved in various ensembles at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, and the University of Wisconsin Platteville.
At the University of Iowa, he participates in the UI Symphonic Wind Ensemble, The Center of New Music Ensemble, The University
of Iowa Tuba/Euphonium Quartet, and many other various chamber ensembles. He has also played trombone with the Dubuque Symphony
Orchestra. Before working with Oregon, Paul marched and later instructed the Americanos Drum and
Bugle Corps.
Paul Miller has been with the Oregon marching band since 2004, where he is currently
the music arranger and the music coordinator.
Nick Cagle
Curriculum Consultant
During the school year, Nicholas Cagle teaches 5th and 6th grade band for CUSD #115 in Yorkville, IL. He holds
a B.M. in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater and is a licensed teacher in both
Illinois and Wisconsin.
Nick has been active as a performer across both the United States and Great Britain,
touring with a variety of musical ensembles. The University of Wisconsin – Whitewater Saxophone Quartet - of
which he is a part - recently finished work on their first full album, “Dance of the Moths,” and was invited to
perform at the National Collegiate Undergraduate Research Conference that same year.
Nick has been with
the Oregon Marching Band since 2004. In addition to teaching music he also helps teach the visual program and assists
in show design. He has served OMAAP as Woodwind Technician and Woodwind Coordinator; he is currently Curriculum
Consultant. Nick resides in Lockport, IL.
Eric De Los Santos
Front Line Coordinator
Eric De Los Santos has been learning, teaching, and performing
music since his early youth. In the past two decades, he has been involved in musicals, drum corps, and various
other ensembles. He currently teaches several high school marching bands in the southeastern Wisconsin area.
Eric began learning
music in his hometown of San Antonio, TX. In the summer of '97 he began his drum corps career. For three
years, he was in the front ensemble at the Pioneer drum and bugle corps. In the summer of 2000, he began teaching
high school groups in Wisconsin. Some of the groups Eric has worked with include Whitnall, East Troy, Burlington, Fort
Atkinson, South Beloit, Cudahy, Waterford, Spooner, West Depere, and Taft High School from San Antonio among others.
Since 2004, Eric has
been the Front Line coordinator at Oregon, a section of the three-time defending MACBDA Championship percussion
ensemble that has been consistently strong.
Dan Tewalt
Woodwind Technician
Dan
Tewalt is an upperclassman at UW-Madison, majoring in Music Education with emphasis on the saxophone and composition.
There, he actively performs in the Wind Ensemble and the UW Jazz Big Band. His musical pursuits outside of school have included,
among other things, marching with the 2008 Drum Corps International World Champion, the Phantom Regiment, as a member of the
euphonium line.
Dan joined the Oregon staff in 2008 as Woodwind Technician for the 2009 summer season.
Beth Skogen

Beth
Skogen comes backs to Wisconsin every summer to photograph the Oregon Marching Band, an organization she was a part of for
5 years. After graduating from high school in 2003, she went on to receive her BA in Journalism and BFA in Studio Art (concentrating
in photography) from The University of Iowa. She later moved to Brooklyn, New York to intern with the illustrious VII Photo
Agency. Her next assignment was across the country in Venice, California to intern with world-renowned photographer Lauren
Greenfield. Each experience informs her ever-growing appreciation of the camera's power to capture and illuminate our
lives.
One thing she will always look forward to each summer is being part of the Oregon Band family again.
Tara-Lee Bryant
Colorguard & Movement Specialist
Tara-Lee has been active in the arts since she was a little girl and quickly grew a passion
for teaching. Through college she taught gymnastics, colorguard and dance as she pursued her own dance career in the Peck
School of Arts in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Tara-Lee has spent her performance career with the World Champion Phantom Regiment
Drum and Bugle Corps from Rockford IL, Fantasia Winterguard from Riverside CA and various dance groups from Wisconsin and
Indiana. Tara-lee has had the opportunity, through her travels and schooling, to work with world class choreographers and
movement instructors to build a variety of techniques and a true love for the movement arts.
Tara-Lee now resides in Bethlehem, PA where
she teaches guard at Souderton High School and promotes music through positive events across the country for Youth Education
in the Arts and has been working with Oregon since 2007.
